Description

Dromore West is a village located in West Sligo at the junction of the N59 (Sligo-Ballina Road) and R-297 (Easkey/Enniscrone Road), approximately 35 kilometres from Sligo City and 22 kilometres from Ballina town. It lies at the foot of the Ox Mountain on the south and the Ocean is the north side of the village.  Situated on the Dunneil River, where the Old Mill, built in the 17th century stands and remains a focal point of the village.

Dromore West is a developing rural village with an ever increasing population.  It was estimated that circa 250 people lived in the village in 2005.  Housing schemes permitted but not built at that time accounted for 90 units.

These sites are situated in an area zoned S4 under the Dromore West Development Plan 2005 - 2011.  These properties are suitable for mixed usage development.  This zoning will facilitate a blend of mainly residential and commercial activities in the area.
